7/18/2024 – Royal Caribbean held the naming ceremony for its newest ship, Utopia of the Seas, which has now become the second-largest ship in the world, behind the Icon. Meghan Trainor, the godmother of the Utopia, performed the ceremony in Orlando. “This is one hell of a ship,” said Michael Bayley, Royal Caribbean’s president and CEO. “… eight neighborhoods … 40 restaurants, endless pools and Jacuzzis, incredible entertainment … that’s why Utopia of the Seas is the ‘World’s Biggest Weekend.'” One feature of the Utopia that’s been getting a lot of love online this week is the Royal Railway Utopia Station, an immersive train-themed dinner theater. 7/18/2024 – NCL has announced it will add Philadelphia to its list of US cruise ports, beginning in April 2026. This is the first time in fifteen years that the port will serve this function.
