Council Room

Wow... this place has the potential to be awesome! And sometimes it is. Keep in mind I said "sometimes." I have given this restaurant several chances in the past few years. What I've learned is that the service is hit or miss. On nights when they have great waiters and waitresses, it's awesome. However it's inconsistent and best. More often than not, I have gotten bad service. If you are okay with waiting 30 minutes to get a refill an empty drink or 45 minutes to get your food only to have it served cold... then this is your place. If you're okay with paying $45 for a plate and having your waitress show up once or twice tops throughout the meal... then this is your place as well. I thought it was just me so I had a few of my friends join me for dinner here one night recently. They were extremely upset with the service as well. I hate posting bad reviews however you would think for a resort restaurant that they would have their act together. Clearly they don't. The cheap snack bar a few Paces down has food that's less expensive and really good. You may be more satisfied with takeout or fast food. Next time I go to council room, if there is a next time, I hope they really turn things around and impress me. At that point I will consider removing this review.

Council Room

Food is excellent unfortunately the manager/ host/was are the rudest people we’ve ever interacted with at Sandia. You walk up to the desk to check in for a table and these people just hate their job.

The service was excellent but due to change of management it wasn’t the same . The steak was dry and due to a party we were limited to only three items from the menu. This time everything was different than what it was before. We weren’t notified that it was last call to order anything from the menu.

My second time eating here and it was pretty bad. The first time seemed better, the food was more fresh. The second time was terrible. I ordered a burger. The waitress was really not up to speed, she came out with a cold soggy burger with soggy fries. I pulled my hair back, but I really caught myself pulling hairs from my burger. I was starving so I took out the hairs and didn't feel like sending it back to wait another 40 minutes. I won't return!

Great food
I had a 10 oz. steak with red chili enchiladas and some boracho beans for $17 which was a steal cause the steak was one of the best steak I have eaten and would have paid $30+ for same platter and had steak and eggs in the morning with a pancake and hash browns. For $15-18 but was same steak and was delicious. Am looking forward to dine there again....
