Plenty of parking. Usually is enough table games open. Nice high limit area. Decent comps for regular players and poker players. The only complaint I have is smoking is still allowed in most of the casino, it should be the other way around... there should be designated smoking areas. It's the same in other area casinos, so it's not just this one.

I ate at the casion's buffet. I always really enjoy it. It is one of the few buffets left in Kansas City. They have a nice selection of food and a great salad bar and dessert selection.The food normally tastes really good. The servers are always friendly and are good at filling drinks and clearing plates. The only negative things I can say is it is kind of expensive and some days the food taste better than other days. However, I love coming on the weekends for crab legs.

This was an average hotel stay for us. We travel a lot and have lots to compare to and this was simply an average stay. The service and rooms of the hotel were good, however some of the hallways outside of the rooms had a weird smell. The rooms were comfortable, but nothing exceptional. Staff was friendly and we got a pretty good rate for the night. Parking lot was a bit busted up with potholes and not cared for, however there was plenty of parking for us so not really complaining. There was plenty inside the complex to do, with multiple restaurants, kids areas, gift shops, and of course the casino. Also, the location was pretty good, where it was only 15-20 minutes to downtown and only a few minutes from Worlds of Fun amusement park. All in all a good stay, but nothing that stands out.

Great casino. The slots seem tight so I hit the tables and won good money there. Surprised they charge you to drink while you gamble. Make sure you take cash with you as the penalty is $18 to get cash there. Also you can get money from the ATM, but they make you pick it up at the cashiers booth which defeated the point in my opinion. Good time overall though.

Location is off the freeway in an industrial area. Lots of things to do inside the casino, not much to do immediately around the area. Hotel is clean and the rooms are nice with fairly reasonable rates. Make sure you are getting what you want online is what you want (check the fine print). Front desk staff was well informed, the people that answer the phone to make reservations aren't so much. Plenty of options to eat inside including a buffet, sports bar, upscale steak house, home cooking diner, Burger King and others. A movie theater, an arcade and a play place for the little ones with childcare staff. Many options for gaming within the casino itself and I love that it has self serve soda fountains for free soda, tea and coffee. Good place to hang out for an overnight get away.

Spent a few hours at the casino and had a great time. Spent nearly all of it playing craps and the table had amazing staff who were fun and helpful in explaining the rules and helping you optimize your bets. I was really impressed with their enthusiasm as well, a great experience. The buffet could have been better though.

We ate at the buffet which had a great variety of foods. Our server was on top of keeping our drinks full and plenty of napkins because it was all you can eat crab legs! The people who helped us on the casino floor were courteous and helpful. Had a great time and won 100 bucks!

The best Casino in Kansas City!! The atmosphere is one you can easily spend hours in. The table game folks are always pleasant and ready to help you learn a new game, and cheer you on when you win. Ameristar does a good job of letting a little money keep you playing for quite a while, so there is never a need to go broke or spend your life savings. Go in with what you would spend at a movie or a nice dinner and enjoy a night of entertainment. There is a hotel so should you have a nice night with a few drinks there is no need to leave. Multiple wonderful restaurants, one of which being a brewery that is unmatched in KC. A movie theater and a child play place with attendees and child care. A game arcade and a gift shop.. we have often not only made this a date night favorite, but also a nice location for a family night out. Its like having a nice safe, clean Vegas right here at home.

It's a casino, with many arbitrary rules, like most other casinos. But overall I think it's hands-down the best casino for a long way in any direction. Not only does it have two large floors of Gaming with a poker room, but the amenities off the gaming floor are better than any casino around. It has a movie theater, an arcade, a Kids Quest Play Place, a venue for musicians and comedians, 2 fast food restaurants, 4 nice sit-down dining restaurants, and a buffet. It also has a nice hotel and gift shop. No pool at the hotel though.

Ameristar is an older building, but fairly well kept up and has some pretty details in the architecture. The casino was basic, but fun. There are two floors with a non-smoking section making up half of the top floor. You'll find the older machines on the second floor with most of the new slots on the main floor by the table games. Ameristar also provided free Coca-Cola brand sodas from soda fountains around the casino floor as you play and you have the option to leave the casino area to eat at one of their buffets or a quick meal at Burger King or Tony's Pizza if you get hungry.

Absolutely amazing! Affordable hotel and huge casino with many many different dining options. The hotel was extremely nice, tidy, and up to date. Staff was friendly and helpful as needed. The room was peaceful, no noise complaints, very roomy, romantic, and clean. This was my first time staying at any Ameristar and I must say I was very impressed.

We had a lovely evening at The Buffet for their all you can eat Crab Leg Buffet. We shows up maybe an hour before their advertised close. Almost everything was still hot and fresh (especially the Crab Legs, which were beyond plentiful). We'll definitely be back again.

We had a great time! First time to a Casino, it was all a bit confusing at times for n00bs like us! We REALLY enjoyed the ceiling and the way that each individual area looked like a completely different building inside of the main building! The food was amazing & the crab legs and shrimp were spiced perfectly so there was no need for butter!

The room was probably in need of remodeling but you could tell it was grand in it's day. Still very nice and you can OPEN the window which is a huge plus for me!!!!! We ate at the buffet (my husband hates them) and we were pleasantly surprised... Really good food!!! Really liked this place AND they let us check in very early, nice workers.

Is a really fun Casino. The staff are so friendly, ALWAYS. Love the entertainment you are able to book. I like how easy the floor plan is to navigate even though it's a very large casino! Great food options! Getting hungry thinking about it. The bathrooms are always clean and stocked, but the distance between them are pretty far. I don't gamble often, but when I do, it's to Ameristar. I've always had a positive experience.
