Rogue River Steakhouse

This casino used to be a beacon of great gaming - and for the most part, it's a decent. The smoke forced me out of there after about an hour! It took away from my gaming experience, having burning eyes. There is a non smoking section... But that a rear still had a good cigarette smell. Nothing against smokers, if my eyes are burning, I can't take the smoke. Didn't stay long, by the time I did spend, I did have some fun gaming.

My ocean view room was more like a view of the run down building between me and the ocean. The shower was moldy and both beds, sheets, and pillows had hair on them upon arrival. Seriously question the cleanliness of this place. If I hadn't spent all day traveling I would have complained and demanded new sheets or left all together. Lucky for me I brought my own blanket and pillow and made it work.

I always enjoy my time at the casino. Staff is friendly. The one issue i have is getting a drink. It's hard to get a drink if you are at a machine. If you are lucky when a cocktail person comes around to get their attention, then you wait and wait... and sit. Because you cant move until they come back. And the line at the bar is usually long. At least i know they arent trying to get me drunk so i spend all my money!

Won over $2000 !!!!! Unique games, 2 stories of slots and tables. Huge bingo hall with games all day with high payouts, also have daubbers for you to use while playing! Weekend drawings, monthly drawings and instant drawings. The buffet was amazing! Seafood was very fresh, abundant, and tasted so good! The prime rib was delicious and they even had fry bread made fresh ❤️ Hotel is priced well and very nice rooms with an indoor pool and hot tub, hotel rooms all have ocean views as well! Definitely coming back to stay in the hotel and play some more!

One of the more attractive casinos in Oregon, right on the coastline, with games, plenty of tables, events, handful of food options and a hotel. Well ventilated to manage the smoke, though if your super sensitive like me, you will still want to hang around the smoke free areas. The dealers and game hosts are super friendly. Keep in mind this isn’t a Vegas casino, but I would recommend this one over the other local alternatives.

The casino is cool. I just wish I could win sometimes. Machines are tight and refuse to give out bonuses unless your at minimum bet. I know they say they cant set machines... but we all know they can. They make billions annually.. least they could do is make it worth your money sometimes to be there. And not be based on using a club card and loyalty for wins.

Me and my husband usually come here once a month for their brunch. Let me tell you over the last couple of years this brunch has gone down hill. I remembe 2 years ago on mother's day how much of a wonderful brunch buffet they had, this year not so much. I'm very very disappointed on how bad the quality of food has gotten along with the variety. I don't find the nearly $20 per person justified any longer. Super disappointed. I was so looking forward to the mothers day brunch since I wasn't able to go last year but finally had time to go this year. Service was not the best either. Waiter seemed annoyed she had to work and bring us our drinks and when we asked for her to take some of our plates off the table I caught her rolling her eyes. Anyways.....I doubt I'll be back for the buffet/brunch again.

I love visiting here, we always have fun. Staff are usually friendly and very helpful. Good food! We stay at Chinook Winds Hotel because there are rooms where smoking is permitted. The rooms are quite nice, and reasonably priced.

Let me start by saying I haven't been to a casino outside of Vegas before. The staff was nice and the drinks were not too expensive (but there 10 of us and no one got a free one). There were not very many tables compared to the huge number of slots and there was a lot of cigarette smoke. Overall we had fun but I probably wouldn't go back.

This review is for the steakhouse only. Excellent food, and I do mean excellent. My wife's prime rib was prepared exactly as she ordered. Even the sides were above average. I had the baby carrots - wonderful! The portions were huge, which to me translates as wasteful, and the prices were a bit high. Go there for a fantastic dining experience, not for a budget conscious meal.

Dozens of penny slots. They have a smoke free section that is right alongside the smoking section. I didn't go in it so I couldn't tell if the air was significantly different but there's no physical barrier separating the two. There were only a few poker tables set up as well. All in all it made for a fun way to kill a few hours. Beautiful beach.

Don’t waste an occasion or your money here
Don't waste an occasion on this place, This was a birthday visit so I thought we'd splurge at the Rouge River Steakhouse inside the Chinook Winds Casino. I didn't expect buffet cheap, but New York City pricing was a little surprising. But, it's a birthday event and I figured it was worth it. NOT. The restaurant wasn't very busy, though there were a dozen or so diners. We were seated at a table with an ocean view - though at 9 o'clock at night the view was more of the motel. I'm sure at sunset it would have been very nice, though a bit crowded. My wine was served in a glass that was chipped and cut my lip. It was replaced, but hardly an I'm sorry. It took three requests to get a glass of water, then the busboy seemed to be very rushed. The salads were really good and satisfying, though mine was dropped on the table and slid off the plate. Randy finished his before mine was replaced. Randy then got to watch while I ate mine. Entrees arrived, mine the Whisky Strip Stake, Randy's a Halibut fillet. Mine looked great but it was raw (I ordered medium, it wasn't even 'rare' it was cold and bright red in the center). We had to ask another waiter to find our waitress. She never seemed available. By the time I sent my steak back as Randy had all but finished his dinner. Randy said his halibut tasted a little old and slightly fishy, but edible. Mind you we were sitting at a window overlooking the ocean, the waitress said it was 'flash-frozen' and shipped in (at least she was honest). It was also the size of Macdonald's fillet of fish patty ($29). Finally I gave up and said I didn't want the dinner, it was taking forever. When the check arrived, the waitress said they had removed my dinner. The bill was still $51. (2 salads, a glass of wine, an iced tea and the halibut.) I tipped the waitress 20% at Randy's insistence, though I wasn't impressed with her. I asked to speak to the manager before I left and a heavyset dark haired woman said she was the manager, and she had 'comped' my dinner (comped - I never had a dinner to comp) and quickly told me she wasn't really the manager once she realized I has an issue. She said she was the bar manager covering for the restaurant manager who had gone home. She said she would address the broken glass with her staff. She made it very clear she could have cared less about our experience and that I should be happy she comped my steak. Now, having read the other reviews, it's no surprise. The casino isn't interested in being a quality venue, they just want you to gamble. They assume they 'have' you since you are there already. I'll probably return to the casino but I'll make dinner reservations elsewhere. Don't waste an occasion or your money at the Rouge River Steakhouse.
