Ever since Bay Meadows in San Mateo closed, I've been wanting to tryout this place. When I finally went last Sunday with my family, I was pretty happy. Driving there was pretty easy. Took the Buchanan exit and then followed the racetrack signs. Parked in the valet lot ($8) and then entered into the Turf Club area for brunch. To my surprise, the Turf Club area was big. I was with some family members so we decided to take on the buffet. Usually it cost $25/person for buffet at the Turf Club, but we were only charged $19 because it was Dollar Sundays. We got to enjoy brunch and a great view of the races from a window table. What was also great was to have a small tv at our table so we could watch other simulcasts. Also, the day that I went they were celebrating Chinese New Year so ever person that entered got a red envelope with a voucher that had a surprise amount. When it was scanned, the voucher only had $2! Oh well. Beside the special giveaway, they also had some special entertainment to celebrate Chinese New Year. It was all around a fun day at the track. Note about valet parking: It was very unorganized and chaotic when we tried to pick up our car from the valet. When we arrived curbside, we joined a sea of people trying to find an attendant to pass on the voucher to. We waited about 15 minutes for our car to be pulled up.
