Went to the Edgewater for the lunch buffet...to start with, if you're going to call the place the Rio Vista (River View) Buffet, it should have a view of the river, not be housed in the bunker-like basement of the casino. Then, you should make sure the buffet host/cashier is at least reasonably competent at his/her job...the person today clearly was overmatched by the touch-screen cash register terminal, as it took her more than 15 minutes to process no more than 25 people. Once inside, the buffet, which was advertised elsewhere as one of the most sumptuous and extravagant in the Laughlin area, was a joke...very little variety, and to call the quality of the food little more than lukewarm dogfood would be both an insult and a lie...an insult to dogfood, and a lie, because it was barely lukewarm...except for the hamburger buns, which were rock-hard, even though the lunch buffet had only been open for about 40 minutes at that point. And the staff, while pleasant, needs to be more observant-I had to wait 15 minutes to get a refill on my soda, and on leaving discovered a cane sitting behind my seat-no doubt the same one lost by the elderly woman who was asking for the staff's help in finding it at the cash register when I was on my way in. If the cane had been a snake, it would have bitten the waiter on the leg at least twice while I was there. (And yes, I turned it in, only to see the staff ignore what I told them about the old lady who had been looking for it and watched them lean it in a corner until "someone" took it to lost and found.) If I hadn't won $25 on a penny slot on my way in, the place would have gotten one star.
