Well, I'd like to start this review by bringing some credibility. I won about $100 on the boat when I went a few days ago. I was relatively happy, but I'll still probably never go back. The service on this boat and the process of traveling to and from the casino as asinine; you MIGHT spend half your cruise actually gambling... If you're lucky. If you go on the evening cruise, you are going to spend the first hour (or more) on a shuttle boat taking you to the "real" casino. They claim it takes 30-40 mins, but each trip took us at least 75 minutes, both ways. If you do the math, you spend about 2-2.5 hours of your 4-5 hour cruise just heading to the boat and waiting in line. The waitstaff and bartenders I dealt with were atrocious. I normally tip VERY, but couldn't make myself leave them a dime. Rude. Condescending. Slow. The guy who waits on you at the second floor galley should be fired. Good luck trying to find a manager to complain to. The guy stood there filling drinks for a waitress while my wife stood in front of him and watched the burgers get cold. This was after we sat at the bar for 15 minutes waiting to be acknowledged by the three employees behind the bar. Hell, we watched a waitress mix a beer with half Natural Light and half Bud Select, THEN SIP IT TO MAKE SURE THE CUSTOMER WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO TELL. Although the service wasn't quite as bad at the cashier and with dealing with the attendants, none of the employees seemed to appreciate that people were spending hundreds of dollars in the casino. I like to feel appreciated and pampered when I walk into a casino with a fat wallet and a beer buzz. On that note, if you don't like well liquor, Natty Light, or Bud Select, eat (and pre-game) before you get here. There's no food the first hour and only non-alcoholic drinks on the "shuttle." The dealers and pit bosses were a pleasure. I've never gambled at tables in such a relaxed environment. The payouts on the tables are better than any of the other casinos in Florida. Some machines are old. Some machines are less old. If you play machines and you are used to the new ticket machines at all the good casinos so you don't have to wait an hour to get your $100 in nickels, don't come here. If you win, you're going to have to wait for tokens to drop. Then the hopper runs out and you have to wait for an attendant. This happened to me every time I won more than $20 at a machine. And when it was time to cross the two-mile line, there was no warning; staff simply yelled to cash-out, without a few minutes of a warning. This caused a mad rush to the cashier, which added about another half hour to our standing in line. Overall, this could be an awesome business, but the service end needs to be overhauled. I was excited to get on a SunCruz boat, but it was easy to see why the company is going out of business. Bottom line: you pay 8 bucks for a few hour cruise, a small, free "meal," free soft drinks, free booze while you're playing, and the ability to put your hard-earned money into a slot machine. If you are a professional gambler, stay away. If you're in the area and you want to kill a few hours, 8 bucks isn't a bad price (no wonder they can't hire personable bartenders, though.) You're probably better off going deep sea fishing and catching a nightcap on the way in.
