I lived at Collingwood Backpackers for 6 months. It's a place you never want to leave. I've stayed in a lot of hostels and none felt like home as this one does. It's hard to explain but it feels like a house and not a hostel. There's nobody on reception telling you to keep it down and you're largely all left to look after the place yourselves which leads to forming of close friendships. Stay here. If you can cope with a building that's seen its best day a long time ago and an environment that can at times not be the cleanest you will have the best time here

Great price, has everything you need and the staff is friendly and pleasant. Always looks after the jugglers ;)

It has been a great experience living in this Hostel. I have been there for about two months and i have really felt home there. You might have to put in some cleaning to feel 100 percent comfortable in your room. It is affordable and to me the people in this hostel became very close to family.I think this is the best longterm hostel you can find if you are staying at least a month.

Everything was dirty and there was a lot of mold everywhere. The hostel was in a really bad condition. The kitchen was okay. The wifi was good and it is affordable. There is no free parking as told on the website. The owner was pretty rude to me.

Very nice place, people are so cool there, it is perfect if you want to have a real break and chill a bit. I stayed in a 4 beds dorm, room-mate really respectful, lockers and small fridge in the room. All the things you need, free Wi-Fi, TV room, computers, nice kitchen, no one stilling food or anything else. Safe and near the tram and the train station to get in the city. Paul the owner helped me a lot and it is really interesting to talk with him. All nationality are in there it is not like a hostel where you will find only French and German young people. Generally, they stay for a long period and are friendly and meet you to play, drink or just chat around a ciggie. I recommend at 300% this hostel.

This place is interesting. Basically it's a dirty hostel with a great people and a chill vibe. I stayed here for two weeks and it was a very inviting group of people. Can get loud at night sometimes because everyone is up drinking into the early hours of the night. Free wifi only extends to half the hostel.
