This hotel was almost as bad as the other Holiday Inn Express on Hotel Ave in Albuquerque, the one we left after five minutes. The front desk staff could not be bothered to greet their guests. (To busy watching Netflix in the back office I guess.) The hotel is dated and unclean. The rooms are very small and the beds where very uncomfortable. We would never recommend this location.
The sign says Holiday inn Express but it was really Motel 6... except for the $115 average nightly cost for a 4 night stay. In the two queen bed room (302) the bathroom was so small you had to circumnavigate the door to use the toilet and shower. No room to work at the desk. Seriously, the Motel 6 down the road would've been better! I also should've read the reviews but was in a hurry and depended on the brand name to ensure standards. The hotel is undergoing renovation but I seriously doubt there will be anything improved; only cosmetic changes. I won't be back.
Addendum: We endured four days and nights at this venue. Housekeeping failed to clean our room one of those days. On our departure day I stepped into the shower after my wife finished hers, and after I'd been walking barefoot in the room. Looking down it looked like I'd walked through mud as the water residual showed my tracks! I'll try to post photos to support this review. Miller
The bathroom was small. The hotel was kinda on a busy street, which did get wuiet after a certain hour. Really enjoyed the air conditioning. The gal at the service desk was okay. I'd stay here again for business, ya know
Friendly staff, and very convenient to all locations in north Albuquerque - Balloon Fiesta Park, Fed. Forest Service offices, and easy on/off I-25. In the process of remodeling the lobby & breakfast area. The rooms are getting a little worn, & could use a similar make-over.
The location is convenient if you are driving I25, although the neighborhood is on the sketchy side and I wouild take your valuables inside. Rooms are clean and service is everything you can expect from a Holiday Inn Express... completely adequate for the price. The lobby is currently under renovation, and they said it was supposed to be finished March 2018, so keep that in mind. This is my go to place when driving through Albuquerque, a solid, cheap option.
