New management has changed this facility for the better. Two years ago we tried this restaurant and were disappointed. 10 years ago it was an unmitigated disaster. Tonight made up for those prior days. Food was delicious and creative, server was attentive and the overall dining experience was beyond top flight for a small casino in a small town. Rivaled the legendary service of Station Casinos in Vegas. Decor is no longer tacky Indian casino, signage is bright and well executed, air filtration I the casino has smoking well vented, and staff is pleasant and engaged.
As transplants from Sacramento/Reno market and having served casinos as part of our business, we wanted to find a local replacement for the by gone days of Peppermill when they had a comfy lounge and fantastic eats to chill out with after work. Bear River just might have that.
We'll be back weekly with the how they can repeat the excellence.
The place looks nice enough however this is our second time here which was less than optimal. This time, our waiter served a Cline Pinot when we asked about and then ordered Cline Old Vine Zin, one of our people was not served for almost 15 minutes after everyone else was, and while all the meats were cooked properly, the flavor was lacking. This is not an inexpensive place to eat, I see little reason to return.
Went today for the Thanksgiving Buffet. It was MAGNIFICENT! The food was fabulous. They had plenty for the vegetarian, as well as the usual turkey and ham and so forth. Wonderful martinis, terrific coffee, wonderful desserts. AND.....we had a lovely server. Even though the place was full of happy celebrants, our server made us feel like the most important customers in the room. WOW!!!!!
Every part of this meal was delicious! The clam chowder was the best I've had in a while. I had the fish and chips and my wife had the bacon wrapped meatloaf with mashed potatoes. Both dishes were exceptional both in taste and portion size.
The food here is amazing. I've been in the restaurant to dine, ordered room service and placed an order to go. The view from the dining area is stunning in the evening. Looking out onto the city of Ferndale and onwards towards the ocean is beautiful. The windows are tinted in a way that keeps the glare of the setting sun from being harsh. The wait staff was professional and curtious. The dining area was clean and well kept. Our food was well prepared and received quickly.
My experience with room service was pleasant. A bit difficult to get the order placed. That may have been a bit of a communication issue. Beyond that our food arrived at a decent time. Everything was an even tempurature and as ordered.
For the to go order there was a slight delay. The timing of my order had to do with that. Beyond that, the food was ok. I had ordered Eggs Benedict and the bread potion was very tough. All in all, I have enjoyed coming to Rivers Edge whenever I stay at the hotel.
