Bought two turtle hatchlings from there, one had an infection so we returned him. The one we got to replace it ended up abruptly dying one day, but one still remains. 1 out of 3 is risky odds.
Went back for tropical fish today and the woman didn't seem interested in anything other than whatever she was reading. The tanks had fish but.... Let's just say I didn't buy anything and that was my last trip. Plus a 20 gallon LID...just a top...is going for like $70 lol. Crazy.

New owners, looks like a lot of work has been put into it. Way better than it used to be. Definitely worth stopping back and giving them a shot at livestock and supplies.

I went there with my 6 year old tonight and wanted to say that customer service was excellent! They had a nice variety of different fish than your usuals found at pet smart. They answered all our questions, and my boy had quite a few to ask. It’s a great place and will be going back there again.

I have been into the store a couple times in the last few weeks looking for items to set up a new freshwater fish tank. I understand that they are very nice people and they have a new business with the fish store. It's my understanding that they have taken over from a previous owner, that was maybe not taking care of things in the store as well as they should have for various reasons. I would like to be hopeful that this could be a very promising store in the Saginaw area for locals. I am just going to wait and see how things develop. They are not starting the business with full in-depth knowledge of taking care of saltwater and freshwater fish. Seems like they got their feet wet with just the barest of knowledge and we'll just have to see how it turns out. They do have one full-time employee that seems to be very knowledgeable with fish tanks but of the several times I've called asking if they have product it seems they are still familiarizing themselves with what they have on the shelf and what people commonly called to ask for. I will change my rating and review after some time when we see how things develop

I wish the new owners the very best. They were very friendly people and have an adorable daughter who was carrying a bird around on her shoulder and obviously loved it very much.
However the first impression I had was of the very strong smell of animal waste. I was looking for a last-minute need for my aquarium and was astounded to see that a place named Ocean Odyssey has very little in the way of aquarium supplies and what they did have seem to be coated with a thick layer of dust.
I would be great really relieved to learn that they have discontinued relationships with any puppy mills. Or backyard breeders who spread genetic disease like hip dysplasia. I really do wish them the best and encourage you to check it out for your own needs. I hope they use this information about my first impressions and make this place a super success.

Read recent reviews and went to check it out with high hopes. The way it is now I couldn't imagine what it was like with the old owners. Can't speak on all animals but the rabbit cages were filthy and not like someone just forgot to clean it this week. As for the fish, dirty tanks and lots of dead fish. The whole store just looked dirty/rundown inside and the smell... I understand when you have that many animals in a confined space your going to smell it but not like this. My fiance likend it to dirty yoga pants if you know what I mean. Decent selection of some hard to find fish but that's about the only plus I came away with and you can't really count it as a plus with the condition of a lot of them. I wish I could say that's all but the staff were awful too. No one had any kind of uniform or tag took me forever to figure out who even worked there. Then after finding someone, manager or possibly owner I would guess by his attitude, he sees me walking over but instead begins hitting on a girl looking at the fish(who didn't seem to appreciate it) Which I probably would have just overlooked if he didn't walk away to chat with a buddy while ringing me up. I didn't see anything as bad as in some other reviews, it's hard to know with fish if they just couldn't be bothered to remove the dead ones or if they just have deaths that often. Im not under any illusion that all pet stores don't have a likely surprisingly high amount of fish die, but this was excessive. I will not return and would definitely recommend against it if asked.

Went in for the first time since new owners have taken over....WOW! What a difference! Amazingly clean, doesnt smell like it did from previous owners who treated the animals horribly and all the tanks were clean without dead fish. No more clutter and disgusting! This is an awesome store. New owners are very nice and the painting and cleaning they have done must have taken along time, looks great. The dogs were well kept and healthy along with all the animals and fish. So glad to see this place the way it should be....
