Ok, so this review starts with us calling the casino to see if they have a room available, and being told to call back because they are in the middle of a shift change. We decide to just take a chance and see what they have when we get there. We end up with a room, but only one working room key. Then we almost rip the weird bathroom door off! The thing only opens about 3/4th of the way, so you have to squeeze into the bathroom! Also, the AC was not working correctly, so we had to set it super low to just be comfortable. The people were friendly tho, but that room was a mess. They did have an amazing outdoor area tho. And the food at the restaurant was SO GOOD! I am still thinking about the breakfast we had!

We arrived at the casino on Monday afternoon. Lori at the casino's club desk was AMAZING! She always had a smile, told us about what there is to do in the area, and made sure we knew about all of the deals. The other employees were also super nice, and very helpful.
We had dinner at the restaurant. It did take a while to het our food, but both of our burgers were good.
We decided to stay the night.
Check in was easy and quick. We got a hill side room, so there wasn't really a view. The beds were comfy, the room was super clean, and the air worked well.
They have a bon fire pit on the beach of Lake Superior on the lake side of the hotel. They had firewood cut and ready, and had good seating.
There is also an arcade and a little play ground, but we didn't use them since we didn't bring kids.
Great place, I will definitely go back.

While the Lodge and Casino isn't the most up to date place I've been, I have been coming back over the years from time to time and the management does keep putting money back into the place to keep it running as smooth as possible. All of the staff are very friendly, the wild rice soup from the restaurant is EXCELLENT, and the casino is big enough to have a good time over the weekend. If your in the area, plan to stay a weekend sometime and check out what the Lodge and the area has to offer.

The recent updates look fresh and clean! I enjoyed playing some slots on newer machines.

Not as good as it use to be silver members demoted to bronze so to don't get your bday rate anymore food in restaurant was a let down tried going a few times after my birthday and it's just not the same had way more fun before the remodel. I use to love going every weekend now when I'm asked I'd rather stay here. 😕

Hotel has been renovated and the rooms and casino are beautiful! The pool and hot tub are awesome and they are even accessible with a chair lift to lower them into the pool. Restaurant always has great food!

It's the closest casino nearest the Canada-U.S.A. border northwards... just like the one closest to the Windsor-Detroit border southwards. Accesible. Not really as appealing as all other casinos in Minnesota or those in adjacent states.
