A beautiful trip! Mostly a hike in the area to view the well-kept castle. The castle is high up in the wall of the mountain (civilians can't go up there). Quite a beautiful sight and is loaded with an interesting history. The trail has a small model showing how the inside looks. The gift shop doubles as a museum where you can learn more about their life. Be sure to be well hydrated! Arizona heat isn't anything to mess with. The trail is mostly sun with some shade.

This area was great. There is a lot of history and the Rangers will answer any questions. They have a booklet you can either print out ahead of time or get there that will have your children looking for facts to become a Jr ranger. The walking path is very easy and wide enough for many people. There is a little gift shop also.

It's like stepping back in time. Spectacular views of the castle and great ranger station. Easy to get to and parking for cars is plentiful. Not so good for trailers or rvs, there is space but its limited. They allow dogs on the trail. The trail is an easy mostly flat 1/4 mile. You can linger for hours or be in and out in 5 minutes. Everyone can go.

This place is crazy cool. Even though you can't go in just observing from the path really helped you step back in time. Rangers are really helpful and informative. Typically spend about 30-45 minutes. Pass is $10 but you can spend a little extra for a pass you can use for parks around area. Easy hike!

Absolutely stunning piece of history staffed by friendly and knowledgeable people.
The beauty of the location is unreal. After passing through the visitors center you walk down a ramp with some staff along the way with fun things for kids to do, including a "junior ranger station".
Looking up to the cutouts takes your breathe away. Imagining the history of the area and what it took to make it by hand is humbling.
Plenty of shady trees and ample areas to rest. Also the NPS offers steep discounts for military and seniors. Getting a National Parks Pass is worth every penny.
Don't miss this location if you're in the area.

Fun, and educating. Really get to see and feel what it was like so many years ago. The short walk is worth the fantastic views. The gift shop is fun and has a small museum inside also.

Was here many years ago, nice to go back. Is a national park so fee required. Knowledgeable volunteer talked about cliff dwellers, their lives and home. Beautiful scenery. Easy circle walk, good for handicapped. Worth the stop. The information center was well organized. It is a National park so there’s an entrance fee.

If you have a small child or infant in tow this is a very accessible park to spend an hour or so in. You sadly can't actually go up into the ruins but there's plenty to read about and seen, all along stroller friendly paths. Paths that are largely shaded so you'll cook slightly less while walking around. Entrance fee is a bit pricey but you should probably buy the yearly pass for the national park system anyways.

Those who know, and understand the past are able to grow in the present. This place will give you a wonderful perspective on those who came before us and how their lives were similar.....and different, from ours. When you look up to the Castle and consider our "cityscape" today, you can begin to imagine how these ancient cultures lived, loved and cared for their own.
Sam, one of the truly magnificent docents in the park, can share with you amazing stories, legends and facts about the culture, the life and the dreams that brought us to today. The architectural mastery of these people alone, is mind-boggling!!
And DO NOT miss Montezuma's Well while you're here!
