Carnival Paradise

Casino
As someone who has sailed on five other cruise lines and regularly plays in ship casinos, I was thoroughly impressed by the layout on the Carnival Paradise. Unlike most ships where casinos can feel cramped, this one is massive and spans a single, wide-open floor. It is easily one of the largest single-level casinos I have seen on a ship I think. The selection of slot machines is excellent, very up-to-date, and offers a massive variety that rivals almost every other line I have been on (except for one two-story casino I visited). However, the payout side of the experience was a letdown. Throughout the cruise, jackpots seemed very limited. incredible game selection.

Carnival Paradise

First experience
Efficient Embarkation: Port of Tampa check-in was perfectly on time and smooth with your specific time for check in. Great Guest Services…. Cleanliness: The ship is beautiful with an old-fashioned classic charm. It was spotless overall, though public restrooms occasionally needed attention. Stateroom & Privacy: Soundproofing at the connecting door was paper-thin; I could hear the neighbor's TV and talk to them at normal volume. The unused upper bunk frame hangs over my main headboard of my bed and is a major safety hazard—I hit my head so hard it was a wow, I told my room attendant he said next time select a better room….. Housekeeping: Service is only once daily, a step down from the twice-daily service I get on other lines. The steward was also confrontational when I tried to drop my bag on embankment in the room before 1pm so I can free up my hands. Intense Security: K9 drug dogs sniffed bags at check-in, and officers patrolled the whole ship constantly. As someone who cruises 5 times a year across 5 other lines, this constant presence felt excessive and unrelaxing, even though it’s for protection. Staff & Amenities: General crew friendliness was lacking. The ship has only one pool and two hot tubs; the pool gets so packed you can only stand in place. Buffet Bottlenecks: Large seating area, but a tiny food section with only two lines. This causes massive wait times and limited food variety… I will go back on this particular ship since I already know their procedure and I will also like to try the other Carnival ships as well to get different experience.
