This is one of the worst casinos I have ever played at. I come because my husband likes to play the slots but unfortunately he spends 10 times more than he has ever won there. I originally come from California and have been playing slots since I was 21. My home town and most of Southern California has so many Casinos to pick from and most are Indian Reservation owned. The owners of this Casino knew exactly what they were doing by putting a casino out in the middle of nowhere, because people in Maine are desperate for things to do for fun and do not want to drive 3 hours up north or 3 1/2 hours to Connecticut and Boston Casinos are even worse than Oxford. Encore is absolutely the worst casino I have ever been to. In Maine there is no competition so they can basically offer nothing and people make their weekly donations. It’s sad really but it’s called gambling for a reason. The people I know that have won more than a thousand dollars on the slots spent that and more and actually think their time has finally come. No, the casino knows they better start paying out to the people that spend hundreds of dollars at a time or they will not come back! Well I also know people that make their weekly donations and have never won over a hundred dollars. Then you have the people that sit on the paying machines and never get off so other people gave a chance to win. I am sure it’s set up that way purposely because the casino is guaranteed their money because they obviously have it too spend. Who cares about the rest of us. Our money goes to their Jackpots. I have never walked out of a casino back home and not put my money I came in with back in my pocket. Ever!!! Casinos out west want your business and want you happy spending your money. Free buffets when you spend $50 or more on slots, always offer discounts on concerts and free hotel stays or a free dinner when yiu spend $100 or more. Send coupons for hotel stays for $80 a night or weekday free hotel stays. Free slot play when you stay at their hotel. I could go on and on. My husband and I went to Vegas for New Years and had free alcohol drinks of your choice all night for spending New Years in their hotel. Things like that. Oxford has not even brought back their breakfast buffets or any buffets for that matter. No one is wearing masks anymore so why are is that nit happening again? Well because it costs them money and their is more profit when people are gambling than sitting down eating. And the prices for the weekend buffets were outrageously priced anyway. I do not know but it is very depressing to go out for date night with your husband and have no fun because you are loosing your money as fast as you put it in and the machines do not even hardly give you enough to sit and play for awhile. I would play on the house for hours on a $20 bill and have so much fun. It kept you going enough to actually enjoy yourself. Oxford does not pay unless you put hundreds in at a time. Well I guess I will keep giving my donations because like I said, there is not much else to do in the dead of winter unless you like the cold and the outdoors. Good job Oxford! You definitely have made a gold mine on the poor people hoping to make a few bucks. They will just put it back in anyway so take it fast so someone else can take their seat and do the same thing. Just keepin it real folks! 😞
