Confusion, low chip stacks for poker tournaments. We called ahead to poker room who advised us entrees for the daily 6:30pm tournament were allowed up to 7pm. We arrived at 632pm and were advised we were alternates and would have to wait until players were knocked out to enter the tournament. There were only 30 players and 3 dealers. One cashier accepted my ID. The other advised my mom she could not enter the tournament until she went in another line to print out her member card (she was previously registered). I became alternate #1 and she became alternate #5 as she lost 5 spots because of the ID discrepancies. We asked if 9 or 10 players register, would they open a new table (a cash game dealer was sitting at an empty table). The answer was "I don't know." Only 6,000 in chips means players are forced to shove an hour or hour and a half. 12 to 15 players on the wait list for $1/2 NL and still no new table opened up after 30 minutes.
