As a Las Vegas local, I was skeptical of booking anything downtown, regardless of any reviews. Still, I wanted to have an enjoyable staycation but apparently placed way too much hope in the industry. After much consideration of the hotels/casinos in the area, I reserved a Premium King room at the Downtown Grand three months in advance. Upon check-in, I was DOWNGRADED to a Deluxe King room with no fridge, no coffee maker, no microwave, no hair dryer, and no door to the glass shower. I would NOT suggest this hotel; they expect you to reach out to them to ask if the premium room you reserved three months ago is available. The hotel did waive the $23/night resort fee, but that did not make up for chicken poop smell at the pool, nor the freezing cold temperatures of the casino floor. If you're in town to see a show at the Downtown Events Center, or if you want to avoid being downgraded, find a spot closer to the area, like the D or the Golden Nugget.
