The ship was wonderful. The staff the best. Enjoyed all the dinning venues. I had a veranda stateroom with a large balcony. Slots were fun. Hit 4 of a kind a couple times on the poker machine. Free drinks in casino. Will look forward to doing same trip in the future.
This is a lovely older ship, very elegant and easy to find your way around.
The Sunset Balcony room was very large, clean and comfortable.
The casino is large with a mix of older and newer games. Tables comfortable and a $10 single deck BJ!
Yes...I would go again :)
This good-sized casino offers many options of table games and slots. Although many slots there were considered old, you can still spot some new games there as well. There are Black Jack, 3 Card Poker, Ultimate Texas Holdem, traditional Texas Holdem, Craps, Roulette, etc.
The staff there were very friendly and always greet guests with smiles.
We were there on this April 2023 Meet-up group hosted by Jessica and we had a blast. Many group events and plenty of fun. Love the energy and vibes this group brings.
Would love to get on this gorgeous ship again.
Here are some highlights of our group.
some quad hits! one of us even hit a Royal Flush hand right off on the first day!
This was our first Celebrity Cruise, we’ve cruised on several companies and we were anxious to try Celebrity. We were very disappointed, as we found the ship lacked natural, lighting, the curtains and the blinds were always shut making the ship appear somber. The food was left to be desired certainly not the level I expected of a 5.5 rated ship. The casino slots are old and not very exciting to play. The crew, I have to give credit where credit is due, they were all amazing. In a nutshell, Celebrity let me down…I’ll stick to princess, Azamara and Seabourn.
Crew were very friendly! Best boarding process from arrival to stepping on ship in 5 minutes! We had an aqua class room and while it was nice it was extremely small as were most of the cabins on board. Food in Blu was good but lacking in many choices. We could order off of the main menu if we wanted. Casino was busy and rather small but we still had fun and walked away from Heidi with over $400 in winnings. Blackjack, roulette and 3 card all had $5 minimums and they had at least 2 tables of each going in the evenings.
The entire cruise was great, customer service was awesome, very welcoming by all for the most part, food was as expected, made new friends too but most important of the cruise was the casino!
The casino lagged any personality. It was really difficult to get anything going. Host was no where to be found most of the time, spent 4 out of 7 days in there, few hours at a time. Seats had no backings to them/uncomfortable and felt unwelcomed at times, 1 drink served to me, no one was there to explain their casino program, and on top of that all - I found no lightening links. I'd go again for everything but the casino.
I agree with pretty much everything you said! I did find the casino host Anele very friendly and around at different times throughout the day. I also do wish they would have better, newer slot machines. It’s hard to keep putting money in the same old slots that you already played and won nothing on. They have about 12 new slot machine cabinets on the floor with all the NEW slots but they are not online yet so won’t be able to try those as we disembark tomorrow. Hoping our next time on Solstice, in September to Alaska, we have a better experience in the casino.
We just returned from our 7-day Mexican Riviera Cruise via the Solstice. I loved the look of the casino and felt like there was a great flow. I'm used to playing at the Wynn and Venetian and thought the slot options were just fine for a cruise. Unless you were playing the table games, the drink service wasn't great initially. After the first day, I made a point to introduce myself to the servers each time I was in the casino and this made a huge difference. I highly recommend. A huge shoutout to Komang for the best Casino service! My husband played at the Poker/blackjack tables for hours and received great service there. The ship was only 1/3 full which had its upsides and downsides. There were no issues finding a chair at the pool, no lines at the buffet and the tenders were easy to board. The downside: many of the casino activities on the ship were cancelled due to low attendance. I understood the cancelling of most events (ie. tournaments) but I was a bit put off when the slot giveaway on the last sail date abruptly halted after only 2 drawings. There were supposed to be 5-6 free play drawings on the final sea day but there was VERY low attendance in the casino that evening. I was happy to win one but there were others in the casino that came down and played specifically for that event. The event wasn't dependent on attendance so it didn't settle well. The ship was very clean and the food was good. Overall, we were very grateful to be able to cruise again. Thanks for coordinating, Tyler!
I agree with the assessments. Slot host was scarce and when he was around only paid attention to a couple high rollers and guess who won most of the promotions. Events in the casino were always late from published times. Matthew the slot attendant was excellent.
I very much enjoyed the cruise and thought the service was excellent. First time on Celebrity. The casino was often very busy at night and only had a handful of machines that I enjoy playing, so sometimes hard to get to them. The casino host Anele, was very visible throughout the cruise and was there on the first day to greet everyone and answer any questions you might have.
The music was terrible, frank Sinatra all day every day.. Boring!! A band by the pool? Try mixing in a DJ to keep things lively a bit! The food was very basic! I was expecting better gourmet food, instead we got cafeteria level cuisine! Housekeeping doesn’t change your sheets regularly, I had a stained sheet on my bed for three days until I complained and only then did they change it!! Completely unacceptable! The casino barely paid out winnings, if a machine awards you 400 free games and the payout is only $85 that’s deplorable! Some machines paid out better than others, however most of them were paying out very stingy!!
Poor Comp system and terrible pay table on video poker machines!
I spent more than $10,000 in the casino during my 7 day cruise. I only got $136 comp. And the pay table is terrible on all the video poker machines. Do not recommend this ship.
We were just on Solstice-had a great time in casino. Hubs had 2 hand pays and I had a lot of good wins. We each got $140 off our folio. The casino host Nicola was lovely 😁
