Take careful note that this review is specifically for the “Wok & Roll” in the Market District. There are 5 restaurants in this section, and although I keep trying to submit these places with details, for some reason Google isn’t processing it.
A friend once told me - “Don’t eat casino sushi, unless you’re in Vegas.” Maybe he’s on to something there. I tried the smoked salmon roll and it left a lot to be desired. I frequently dine on sushi, and at $10 for a relatively simple roll, I was expecting more. The texture of the salmon was off-putting compared to rolls I’ve had at other sushi joints, and I can’t say it had much flavor either.
On another occasion, I had the Kung Pao Chicken, which was okay in terms of flavor. The “chicken” part of the dish was quite scarce, however, and I also thought this selection was overpriced. If you’re looking for a place to blow your Greektown comps, maybe this isn’t such a horrible place to grab a quick meal. But if you’re paying cash? Nope, not worth the money. For what it’s worth, the food was wrapped well to-go, and I appreciated the fortune cookie.
