I am sitting in my hotel room right now with an inner room overlooking the lobby/dining/pool area. This hotel has no sound barrier. It's an architectural feature and nice but if you have rooms overlooking a huge echo lobby make the glass/rooms soundproof. Between the paper thin walls, doors that slam constantly and the inner rooms guests get no peace. If you want a quiet hotel go somewhere else or request an outer facing room. I also have a sore throat from the stale/musty smell of the linen I'm sitting on. On another point, 2 elevators for a 10 floor hotel is craziness. The time spent waiting to get on/off the lift is frustrating. Also I've stayed in rooms for half the price with free WiFi (none of that here ) that were larger, cleaner and MUCH quieter. One more note if your tall you'll probably be rubbing your noggin on the ceiling of the shower. Bathrooms are small so good luck with that. I know I sound like little Ms. Negatively I'm just disappointed by what I'm finding for the Marriott name and pricing compared to other less expensive places. If it were my choice for this weekend I'd at the holiday inn.
