The Ameristar Casio security is visible. The comps are much, much, much better than the Horseshoe. The food in the buffet is much better. We have more FUN at this Casino .....they do not have 5cent Keno which I enjoy playing after playing my regular games. They gave me Comps for my Birthday .....Shoe did not. The Hotel is wonderful nice clean rooms. My sure pick for a Casino is The Ameristar .

Went here for the all you can eat crab legs on Saturdays, and it was amazing! So good!! Staff is very friendly and always smiling.

ONG, I loved staying there. The rooms were gorgeous. The all u can eat Seafood Buffet. The stores, the variety of eatery was very nice. The drinks were not free as In some other casinos

This is my second home great rooms great pays great customer service. They recently did a remodel and i couldn't find my machine the host took the time to look up the locatin it was moved to made me so happy. And Tony the manager of the steak house AWESOME BEST FOOD AROUND

Local casino that is close. Well maintained. Does smell like smoke in the casino area because they do allow people to smoke. Not a bad place to get a bit to eat or do some casual gambling.

I love all the comps I get! I get more comps here vs horseshoe! Rooms aren’t too bad. Food is excellent at the sports bar! Will def be coming back!

Hotel was amazing. The casino was pretty crowded and had to wait a few times on table games. Also I'm a non smoker and the smoke in the casino was overwhelming and had they not allowed smoking definitely would have spent more time in the casino. Would definitely stay at the hotel again but not sure if we will be back to the casino or not.

Ameristar Casino 8n East Chicago boasts Heritage Buffet. It's a decent buffet offering a steady stream of palatable options. The dessert quality and selection is always to be depended upon. Two nights a week they offer two for one for seniors. Pretty good deal.

Ameristar Casino is a beautiful place inside and out. I win occasionally but never win a major big big Jackpot . But I guess in do time. My favorite drink is Easy Living, you got to try sometime it's with the different kinds of juices. Ameristar Casino must be during something right it stay pack. Theirs employees are nice and friendly that's what I look at. Amen

Too many tables crowding out those playing slots. With this being a multi level boat, with not much floor space as it is, causes some tight spaces. And like all casinos, since there is smoking allowed there is not much of a chance to avoid, if you are a non smoker. They do have a very small section for non smokers. Their restaurants are the reason I elevated the rating to two stars. Good food and a nice sports bar.

This casino got very tight. We usually spend there a lot of money with very little return. I know you go to casino to loose, but they should let you play little bit not just take your money. Everyone loves to win, but going to casino to win is like playing a lottery. Odds are against you. However like I have said, let people play little longer on those machines...

I love the Ameristar hotel the staff is very nice they always speak & smile. Their rooms are very nice. They have big spacious tubs. Nice big comfortable beds.

Ameristar has a great atmosphere. The main lobby is always decorated nicely for holidays. The Stadium restaurant is great, and the bartenders are always very accommodating. We also play 3 card poker while at Ameristar and always have a great time overall.

Staff is extremely friendly. I recommend the buffet - it might be limited but they will take care of you pretty well over there and I always see the chef around to check up with guests to assure that they are taken care of. I don't really see that at other buffets and it is really appreciated, especially when there was something on the buffet you have had before and isn't there at the time, chef is willing to take care of the guests by going out of his way to get the item to your table the way you like it. Security is friendly and welcoming. Dealers are friendly and if you aren't familiar with hand signals on table games, such as Blackjack, they are willing to help you learn Casino is the casino. Might be tight, might be loose, but I always seem to leave without breaking the bank.

This place is very nice. I go at least once a month. The roo.s are clean the views on higher floors are nice. The food in the restaurants are really great. The food is always good and the steakhouse is excellent. Sbarro is well Sbarro. And the casino is riverboat style casino with lots of slots and some tables and other games on the top floors. Comps and points can be earned pretty quickly if you sign up for the membership and the rewards get better and better as you play more and more. All in all if you're looking to stay at an affordable hotel casino in East chicago area, this would be a great place. I give it a 4.2 out of 5.

Had a great stay in a wonderful room. Was greeted by a friendly staff member, FD supr, at the time of my check-in. (Surprised by the great attitude) at such a late hour after 12 pm and they held my reservation. Thank you to a great cleaning crew that did not wake me up to clean my room both days as I slept in. I worked in the hotel industry for 25 years and commend the management on the choice of front office staff, extremely hospitality driven people. The Casino was a large contrast to the hotel, both from the cleanliness and professionalism. The table dealers (craps especially) were friendly but lack the professionalism required to bring in your players that want a well run table. Every 10 minutes a player had a arguement about his last second sloppy bet, and the dealers continuely allow those moves. I blame the pit boss for lacking the admin controll of the staff and the conversations that were allowed by the dealers. I notice no other player was tipping the dealers much and mentioned it to the dealer lead...when the pit boss mentioned that it was not done here???? I questioned whether I should continue doing so myself....This did not reflect on my winning or losing, but I would like the dealers to strengthen their game and not allow the sloppy players to dominate the table and affect the flow of play.
