Only been to the Turf Club so I didn't spend too much time with the "spitters and hackers". Very well put together location. There's pallet parking and a dress code to keep it classy. Included in the Turf Club ticket is access to their tasty buffet with a wide range of foods including dessert and all you can drink coffee. Top notch bar area too. Nice view of the track from every table where TV's are set up to watch other sports or races at other tracks. Betting at kiosks or at the teller is simple and easy. Even if horse racing isn't your thing it's still really cool to watch it live and in person.

My Red Hat friends and I enjoyed the Horse Race Event on November 1st. It was so much fun. The prime rib buffet was delicious.

It's always fun to spend a day at the races. The service was amazing and the food was great. VERY tasty for a buffett

This was our second time to the racetrack, for my husband's Christmas company party. Even with this busy as it is, they do a good job of keeping bathrooms clean and the Buffet full. The food is fairly good and the service is friendly. Not much more you can ask for. The are a lot of fun, the tellers are very friendly and will explain to you how to place your bets if you have never bet on horses before. 10/10 would come back

This was my 1st time going to Golden Gate Fields. Dollar Sunday is great for an economic day of fun. $1 parking, programs, entrance, hot dogs, beer and mimosas. Both our picks came in first place. Cool way to spend the day.

Visited the Turf Club to play Bingo on a Tuesday night. It was fun the people are nice. The snack bar needs help. But, it is very clean and they have monitor's at every table so you can see the numbers. Polite volunteers the collect trash often NEVER a full trash can. I didn't win but, I enjoyed myself. They only play strips and side game's no regular Bingo. Plenty of parking and close to the door. I will go back and play again very nice.

Love this place! So much fun even if only spend a few bucks or go with friends and just watch! Went on $1 Sunday recently, spent $20 all together over a few hours and won $15! Worst case scenario, spent $20 for 2 people, both got tipsy/ate and entertained for a few hours. Where can you go nowadays and have tons of fun, excitement/action/entertainment, drink and eat for only $5 BUCKS? BETTING CAN START AS LOW AS $0.50 which allows us to have a ton of fun, all day, without breaking the bank. Winning is winning, no matter how small, it still puts a smile on my face. 3 games at a bowling alley cost $40 plus drinks/food. Totally worth it! Anytime I've gone - I break even, win a bit or lose very little! Never have I ever spent $40, even when I've gone all day and have walked out a couple times with over $200 in winnings $3-10 bets! Definitely recommend checking it out! Enjoy!

Went with a couple of friends on Sunday "Dollar Day" and had a really Great time. It truly is dollar day, the beer was a dollar ,although it was Natural Light (what do ya want for a buck), dollar dogs, dollar programs, the staff was super nice, lots of people but not crowded, families the works. I even made a couple of 2 dollar bets and won 44 bucks, the cost of the day. If you haven't gone you should go, trust me you'll enjoy yourself. Good Luck!

Took my parents and our kid for a day of fun watching the horses race. I'm not sure why this isn't more popular since it's one of the cheapest things we did while in San Francisco. I would recommend going to the club upstairs. It is well worth the $12 per person to sit in the restaurant upstairs and watch the races with your own private table and helpful waitstaff for the day.

Great experience for my whole family. We were greeted at the entrance with smiles and thank you's. My kids enjoyed the live band as well as the beautiful horses. We came to visit during dollar days which makes it even better since hot dogs and drinks were only a buck. Will be sure to go again soon.

Lots of fun. Love to see the beautiful thoroughbreds. Dollar Sunday's are nice if you are budgeting. It is a dollar admittance, a dollar per hot dog, a dollar per beer, and a dollar per program on these days. A little bit of waiting in line on these days, however; if you prefer not to wait, you can go to the bar where there is plenty of food. In addition, they also have the Turf Club upstairs if you like to be indoors and have table service. Fun for everyone. We've loved GGF for years!

Beautifully kept place, the landscaping is wonderful, the paddocks are clean & organized. The grandstand is a bit unorganized. Many of the luxury boxes were missing chairs. There's several laser-printer signs taped to polls stating which section of box seats were reserved seating; Tacky. Numbers for the reserved boxes are cracked and/or peeled away. The general population area was actually kept cleaner than the clubhouse. I found the bathrooms downstairs to be nicer than the ones upstairs. It also didn't make much sense that several restaurants were closed on a Saturday. The staff all seem very friendly & helpful! Always bring a jacket because as the sun starts to set, the breeze directly off of the SF Bay gets horribly strong & chilly. Check ahead to see if any fog is expected because, when it does, you won't be able to see who won.

It's a very fun race track with live races and track simulcast. Sundays are a great day to go as entry and beers are $1. I just went for the simulcast of the Derby and the live races on Saturday. There are as a hat contest like at Churchill Downs and some other fun Derby celebration events.

Enjoy going with the family on Dollar Sundays. $1.00 for parking, entrance, soda, water, beer (2 cups per person), mimosas (yummy), hot dogs and of course $1.00 on the race (per horse). Family friendly. Entertainments are live, radio entertainment, bands, musicians and contests. There is a Food court that's set aside from the dollar deals. Great for networking and socializing. You never know who you'll run into.

Always fun, but turf club food is like Dennys. On a nice day, better off sitting outside and grabbing a hotdog!

Dollar days are the only time I'd really consider coming here a good idea. Cheap hotdogs and some gorgeous horses. Don't stay late, the later crowd is just depressing.

Place is grimy, but really that's what you expect, and to me it's what I want. On Sundays beer, hotdogs, admission, and parking is all a dollar. And if you expect more from that, you shouldn't. It's decently clean, there's always a place to sit, and horses are fun to watch no matter what.

Golden Gate Fields is a local landmark . Lot of people turn away just because of the gambling , And I definitely understand that. you just want to go somewhere with great views fun people and employees who go above and beyond to make your visit a good one. Some of the views can really be on postcards & breathtaking . Sundays are Dollar Days dollar parking, dollar admission, dollar hot dogs , dollar drinks including beers. I took my father-in-law doesn't gamble at all but loves horses & he said he's been living in San Francisco since 1967 drove by on Interstate 80 almost three hundred fifty thousand times.. and is kicking himself because he didn't realize how much fun in the Sun it was.

Dollar Sundays! Weiner dog races! So much fun. Lots of easy parking, great location, and as long as you ignore the folks ruining their lives with gambling it can be a lot of fun.

Clean, clean, clean. Well watered and green green lush landscaped. $1 days on Admission and hotdogs are Great Value!! Beautiful SFBay shore location and view of mouth of biggest river in the State. Very polite and helpful smiling staff. And beautiful healthy horses to watch !! Very good tasty, fair priced food !! How do they do it all,,, so well? Join all the SF richie-rich and Commoners for a fun day! 2 Peninsula race tracks are ,,, gone.

It would be helpful to make sure you understand how horse racing works before coming here. There's very little in the way of newcomer help, and it would be nice to have something display the est value of a Place or Show bet. I highly recommend you bring $50 and play around on Dollar Sundays. I did today and it was incredibly fun. So $1 the terrible beer and sub par hotdogs aren't half bad. Don't buy a soda inside though, because the Italian place charges $3 for less soda in the can outside for $1... Horses looked mostly happy and well fed, which is not something I can say about the jockeys. So there's that!
