Where to begin? First of all the hotel charged us an estimated 33% in taxes and fees (HST is 13%). I asked for an explanation and the breakdown was a combination of HST, resort fees, TIF/TMF fees (Tourism Improvement Fees) yes they charge the TMF on top off all other taxes. So it is tax on tax.
The first room was extremely small but that was OK until i find out that it was right beside the elevator shaft and we were not told about it. The noise was so bad that I immediately call the front desk and ask for a room change. After 20 minutes on the phone they finally offered me another room in one of the lower floors. The 2nd room was OK but it smelled like rotting meet. I had to enjoy my time so I decided to just accept it. No more energy fighting on my wife's birthday.
A few hours later we noticed that we can actually hear all conversation (and more) of our next door neighbor. The walls are not sound prove at all.
I had enough so the next morning I went to the front desk and give them a list of compliments which they only offered an apology but no refund.
Bottom line, our mini gateway was not as enjoyable as we hope to but other than that the city and the casinos were great!!!
IMO not a 4 start at all.
