Went to the new cannington greyhounds tonight. What a joke! Very spectator unfriendly. Didnt use the box1 'restaurant' as it was to loud and people constantly having to come in to place their bets, and standing around you while you ate your dinner. You also arnt able to get a good view of the track from inside box1 as it so on the ground floor and set back from the track. Upstairs there is a bar area for the public VERY few chairs, does have a balcony which you can watch the race from. The new 'big' screen is a joke. Even if you had good vision it is so hard to read because of the colours they are using! It also constantly rotates between stats and adds - very frustrating. There is a good amount of grass with the 'hill' for kids to play on however no wear for adults to sit so take a blanket or chairs!! (although i heard maybe there will be plastic chairs supplied next week for the opening). If you didnt eat in the restaurant (which has a very limited menu) the only other option was a food van - again not sure if this will change after next week. There is NO wet weather cover other than the 1 building so i would definitely reconsider going if the weather is average. Hopefully the facilities for the dogs are top notch other wise i have no idea where all the money was spent! All in all very disappointing. On a positive note we didnt have to pay to get in! Thank goodness.
