Checking in was hell, as a first timer most of the affiliates are more interested in selling you something than help you figure out your issue. The room at first glance was mediocre, and I had the resort king with a view. However, after I spent time in the room, it was either too hot or too cold at night, the bathroom had no tub, the walls and paneling were in a serious need of maintenance, and there was clear evidence of roaches. Room service was great, house keeping did a wonderful job of keeping the amenities stocked. The food court was an arm and a leg, and the buffet, while didn't resemble the wet yellow and blue of national lampoons Vegas vacation, it wasn't that far off either. Customer service in some of the shops was pretty bad, I gave a 20$ bill for a 20oz aquafina costing 3.75, and received one dollar and twenty five cents in return. There was "nothing the could do about it" until they checked the balance of the till. In the casino there is an assortment of games and table games usually have instructions in the mornings. Cocktail waitresses stay busy, but tipping them keeps them waiting on you. Although I had a blast in Las Vegas, I can't say the excalibur hotel and casino was anything close to special. Next time I'll be staying elsewhere.
