We had a nice stay over Thanksgiving in a regular suite. The room and service is what you'd expect from a five-star resort.
The Encore has more formal restaurants with dress codes and child age restrictions (5 yrs) which meant we had fewer dining choices with our little ones. Of the Chinese restaurants, we actually liked Red 8 at the Wynn a little better than Wazuzu in the Encore. We usually like the buffet at the Wynn as well, though the wait was too long on Thanksgiving day.
Like most other casino resorts on the strip, it's impossible to get to the guest elevators or restaurants without passing by smokey casino floor area, and it also makes waiting for restaurants even less pleasant.
The gaming action was so-so... I mostly play craps, and the odds allowed are only 2x/2x/2.5x unless you go to high limits area where it's the more common 3x/4x/5x.
