Perfect size Casino for the development it's on. Not a big casino, but it adds something to do in what was a brown site only a few years ago. Probably the easiest Casino to navigate that's not on a cruise ship - hard to get lost, and the layout of the eateries on the extremities cuts down on traffic through the middle parts.
Parking is a cinch, and finding a slot machine no problem at all. Was a little off-put that you can't put a dollar bill in any of the machines. Anyone saying Schenectady is a dump - well - it's an old NY industrial city - most of them were on the downturn for the past 50 years. Schenectady has revitalized its downtown. I don't see a Casino of this size being able to do anything other than add another attraction to the area. I first thought it would be a distraction from the rest of the Mohawk Harbor plan (which was in place well before the casino project was added) - but being there, I think it will be one of the most unique destinations in the region. All of a sudden there is a lot to do in Schenectady and the outlying area, an Aquarium in Rotterdam, Proctors, Bowtie, and now Rivers Casino. Can't wait to see the rest of the development get completed.
EDIT: Just wanted to add one thing - anyone complaining about $5 parking - the garage is free, I've never been more then 30 feet from the door to the elevators, which bring you right into the casino. I've never had an easier time parking at a Casino, so don't know what all the fuss is about.
