Overall, not a bad experience. The property was beautiful. We received an upgrade to the Hideaway which was nice considering that we did not have any children. However, we did not experience any extra noise or inconvenience from the child-friendly areas of the resort.
The Food: ...was OK. You can't really expect much from buffets and the restaurants were average. I would have liked to have enjoyed more authentic foods from the region. Since I am not a fan of the Standard American Diet (they acronym spells SAD for a reason), I found most of the foods laden with salt and sugar, but I'm a bit of a food snob.
The Staff: was friendly and accommodating. They even were patient with my Spanglish (most were bilingual). Eduardo from the excursion booking desk was AMAZING.
The Spa: was small, but the massage was great. I was disappointed that there was no hot tub on the property, but I can understand why a Carribean resort may not want super hot water around (smile).
I would definitely return for the convenience alone. I am sure I could find an excursion that would accommodate my desire for authentic Dominican / Haitian food.
For the money, the trip was definitely worth it.
