ALL INCLUSIVE = Limited. Just like everyone else does I search all the papular travel sites, saw the pictures and reviews. Since we were not sure what direction we were going to travel, we did not do any bookings. Once we reach Tambor airport, we decided to call Barcelo Tambor to see if they had avaliable room for the weekend. To our surprised they said yes. The entrance is very grand, the road line with trees, a long private driveway. Alot of security in which my wife likes. Large tall open lounge reception area. Very elegant. In regards to the ground, building and floor plan is exucuted very well, lots of open places beautiful lounges, great large several pools that lead to a swim up bar. I would give it a 4 star for the set up of the hotel. All inclusive =Limited. You have to purchase wifi services in which has a weak signal. Alcoholic drinks and special drinks included beer is Imperial, drinks are done with local alcohol brands. If you want top shelve you have to pay for it witch is not a problem, until you have to go to the reception desk pay for and return to the bar with a receipt. Very inconvenient. They have a great bar area with a pool table that invites you to play, so you ask the bar tender for the billard balls the bar tender again direct you to the reception desk to be told that you rent it by the hour. They have live shows set up for the family and young audience and live comics but its all in Spanish. The food was good in which is included, nothing different that you won't fine at any local resturant. If you want more upscale food then Rice and beans your welcome to the Steak and Sea food restaurant in which you have to pay for, but dont forget to make the trip to the reception desk again to pay for your meal. The rooms were nice but nothing you can't fine at a 3 start establishment. I was very disappointed with the Central Air services the room was refreshing but not ice cool as one would like it. The air quality of the room was poor, it was like breathing air from an old dirty window air conditioner. Had to open the patio door several times to refresh the room. I dont mind paying for services, like they say you pay for what you get. And what we paid for we did not get. The hotel has day passes that the locals can purchase. They have all the same amenities you paid for except a room. So they pack a bunch of bags and they come by the car full. So you decide after breakfast you'll get change into your pool atired and get a couple of chairs next to one of the wonderful shaded cavanas next to the pool to get there and they would be all taking by the locals that have a day pass. To get to the swin up bar you have to navigate the pool maze. Once there is like a watering hole the people sit on pool bar stool and dont move. Same for breakfast lunch and dinner. The hotel gives day passes to make the hotel appear buzy with tourists when 85% are locals. I dont mind that but when it diminishes my personal experience and i pay up it to me is a 3+ limited inclusive hotel.
