Didn't stay here (we were in the magnificent St Regis across the road) but enjoyed the experience of strolling the highways and byways admiring the waterways... The real city state of Venice is a marvel but expensive and generally not mass tourist friendly (to be fair it was of course never designed as such!). Here you get a truly remarkable facsimile without lagoon smells, with friendly staff, no hidden rip off prices and a general air of service. On occasion these can be rare in the "real thing." Indeed some hardy travellers may compare the Venetian Macau favourably with the magnificent historic city state it replicates, delivering a remarkable accuracy with a luxurious modern twist...
