Cafe Orleans

For a casino I feel it is very small but it's tradition for us to stop each year on our way through. Easy to find off 77. Tables are limited but again the smallest casino I have ever visited. I would like to check out the rooms and rates just hasn't been an overnight area yet as we travel to the east coast.

The hotel needs to get with the program. My husband and I travel all over the US to different casino and resorts and Mardi Gras is the only one that does not allow kids. My daughter used to love going to the pool and Cross Lanes had plenty to do like going to the park, movies, or shopping near by. I understand that there were adults that left their kids unattended but banning kids is not the answer. The logical answer would be to have parents sign an acknowledgment that they will supervise their kids and ban the parents that violate the policy. Change the policy and allow kids again. I recommend others affected by this to voice your opinion as well!!

Omg we love Mardi Gras!!! Definitely worth the drive from wherever you are. Casino is the best, awesome staff. The resort hotel is immaculate, the rooms whichever you may get are very clean and spacious. I love the late check out as well. See you there.

Cafe Orleans

Smaller casino, but it was rather nice. Has everything from slots, craps, and blackjack to a sports book and dog racing. Stayed at the hotel and enjoyed ourselves. There is a grill and coffee shop open 24 hours in the casino. Drinks were reasonably priced and the wait staff was always coming around. Dealers at the tables were fun and outgoing.

Awesome place. I go there a couple of times a month. I have taken advantage of the free hotel room once, it was very, very nice with breakfast included. The dealers are very nice and the place is very clean. I not been for racing and have pretty much only been there on weekdays 11-4 or so, not very crowded. The West Virginia hot dogs with slaw are awesome and so is the reuben sandwich. My friend says the burgers are good too. Love the place and anxious to return!! 5 stars! Really!

Too many machines to pick from. I like it better when it was the old dog track. The food and drink are expensive on most things but you can get a steak sandwich and fries for around 8.00 I think but like a brownie is 3.00! A drink is 2.00 or 2.50 and you get free refills but I don't know if you can take your cup out of the food area and still get refills. Ice cream is 2.00 for 2 scoops I think. The one food place is open 24 hours that's a plus. At one food place the prime rib is 18.00 is what the sign says. I think some of the things are to costly to try like the roulette, it cost me 5.00 for just 1 try! They do have a variety of things to do like the slot machines, keno, poker tables, dog and horse races and food and alcohol. You can go to the players club and sign up with your ID and a email address and they will give you 20.00 free dollars to play on but you have to be 21 and the players club is not open all night. The players club closed at midnight on Thursday when we went. The place is clean. I don't like way the set up is. I've never figured out why they changed the name to what they did but oh well. I've herd a lot of people say they do better at the smaller game rooms then here and there wasn't very many people there for a Thursday night.

We stopped by Mardi Gras Casino & Resort on our way home to Michigan from a trip South. We did not stay at the resort, but the casino was very nice. It was bigger on the inside than we were expecting and had mostly newer-looking games. Bathrooms and free non-alcoholic self-serve drink stations were easy to find. We'd definitely stop back.

The hotel was clean, my only complaint being there was no duvet cover on the comforter and an obvious brown stain on its edge. The comforters are clearly not washed or bleached, so I felt uneasy sleeping with just a thin sheet between my body and something dirty. There's complimentary breakfast until 10am with made to order omelettes at the buffet (bring dollar bills for a tip), cereal, fruit, danish, toast, and bagels. The breakfast staff was extremely friendly. I'd recommend signing up for the Player's Club at the casino. You get $20 to use on slots just for signing up with your email.

Our visit was fun! The prime rib was incredible!! Came in hungry, finished miserably full!! It was a clean place, good atmosphere... We watched a few of the greyhound races, and got to see them interact with each other after the race, they seem to have fun, even though they never actually get to "catch" the rabbit!! Navigating through the building is a it confusing, more signs and direction, and also location signs more visible would be awesome!! Overall, great place! Hopefully we can stay in the hotel soon!!

Good entertainment and a clean facility. Do not have many eating experiences there but had the buffet years ago and was not impressed as the food did not seem fresh and flavor was so-so. Can't speak for the cafe or restaurant as have not eaten there. Gambling on their machines is fun but expect to spend some dough and it's crowded often. Have never played the tables but it does look interesting. There is live entertainment on the weekends with decent music although recently there was a dueling pianos act and wanted $10 to enter. Drinks are expensive but still it's a good place to go and socialize. Also have no betting experience but that looks interesting too.

My husband and I are professional driver's so we enjoy getting off the truck for a real date night every once in a while. We were pleasantly surprised that the casino had truck parking (some dirty truck drivers have ruined things in the past at places that no longer allow semi parking). We came on a Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed the Seafood Buffet. We also loved the dog races and are learning how to bet for our next time through. We danced and sang to the entertainment band Esquires who are so talented and fun! What a night and wonderful smoke free casino with great staff!! We'll be back many times for sure!

Cafe Orleans

We were traveling from DC to St. Louis and decided to stop in to have a nice mother’s day meal and spend the night. We decided on the French restaurant. We stood by the hostess desk for 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. There were only 6 customers (3 tables). One guy looked like he was waiting on the tables. A girl was setting up empty tables with new glasses and silverware. A couple other people was wondering around. The girl setting up the tables looked at us and then went in the back. The hostess finally came out. Didn’t say hello or sorry for your wait. Just sat us at a table. We looked at the menus for 10 minutes with no one else acknowledging us, bringing us water, or coming by to say “will be with you soon”. The girl setting up tables was too busy talking with another coworker- who I’m guessing was leaving because she had her purse on her shoulder. There was still the one guy waiting on the 3 tables. I told my husband as much as I wanted a very nice meal - paying $35 for a bottle of wine and $50 for each meal- and then the appetizer and desert- I don’t mind paying for that if you get good service. Still no one acknowledged we were sitting there, so we went to the cafe next door and paid $15 for hotdogs and draft beer. Really no one n the casino was very friendly. Dealers seemed crabby and not happy to be there. The only person that was really nice was the girl who checked us into the hotel, and the security guard.

It was a fun time with my wife. We covered all expenses of our stay, food, drinks, bets, gas besides the hotel room. With me being a new member I won $100 on $5 of what they gave. Also got a free shirt, though had to get an XL despite I am a small. We went just to have fun and didn't expect to win anything. Plan on returning. The hotel is convenient, but walls seem very thin and the mattress was like a rock.

We stay here every chance we get. The rooms are very nice the only complaint is they only have a mini bar in the room and no fridge where you can bring your own drinks and keep them cold. Watching the dogs race is fun. There is a great place where you can eat and watch the dogs. There are plenty of gambling choices in the casino and no shortage of slot machines. I have never been there when there was a dealer at all of the card tables and the ones that are open are always full and there is usually only one or two tables with a low minimum. The French Quarter Restaurant is a must on Thursday night when they have their steak special.

Stop by on my way to Ohio 40 bucks in my pocket not a lot of gas figured 45 more miles or take my chances first time roll the dice probably a stupid idea but I took my chances so I stopped in not the best looking place when you walk in possibly needs an update definitely not Hollywood but who goes to Hollywood casinos it's kind of like that gym you really never hear about but it's great when you find it or here's mine I walked out. Within the matter of a few minutes I don't know but call it beginner's luck I don't know. When I go back there yeah why not not one of the most glamorous Casino Resorts but if you can win that quick walking in it's got to be a good Casino thumbs up I didn't work out with a million dollars or anything but heck 2 thousand good enough for me.

I'm from out of town, been hear for a few months due to work. So I've been to Mardi Gras Casino on a number of occasions. The food is really good there at all locations within the Casino, but you see an enormous amount of sad faces as you walk through the Casino. I believe this is due to people not being able to WIN anything much. You should gamble here for fun only. I think they have perfected how to take your money.

Like this casino, my favorite part is NO SMOKING!! Great table games that are at a good minimum bet. I think 5 bucks for blackjack. Good video machines and not overly crowded. They have dog races on Friday and Saturday night. Nice hotel, never stayed there, but it's fairly new and the rates look affordable. Plenty of parking and easy entry and exit. Not as good as Vegas, but way better than Cherokee casino.

I came 3 hours away from NC. Had a wonderful time and was playing at 1 table the whole night, everyone at table was having a good time, losing some and winning some. Then the pit boss said they had to move us to a new table around 2 am, we went to new table and after 3 hands 1 of the guys saw that the dealer was dealing different than when we were at the other table. About 10 hands through, 1 person had won 1 hand. We talked to pit boss for a explanation and he didn't have one that made any sense to us. I've played there about half a dozen times and had always had fun but after last night it seems as if past a certain time they try to start getting there money back and what seemed to be a very sneaky way. I was very disappointed to say the least. And so were the other guest. That is not god for business. I tell any who ask about visiting mardi Gras that should go but 5o watch out for what experience I had that night.

The First Yurn Restaurant was just pk. The wings were good but the nachos were gross. I have eaten at the buffet once and that will be my first and last it was terrible. Wanted to try the French Quarter but it was seafood night which wasn't appealing. The new club/bar Louies was nice but the wait staff was like molasses slow and unresponsive. They had ran out of several items already on a Friday night ....not good.
