Called to make a reservation, but was told it was not necessary. When I then asked if we could come right in, the woman on the phone said yes, we could come right in. When we did, we were told it would be a 30 minute wait and we’d be on the patio. This would be fine if this is what we were told. The “manager” was extremely rude (interrupting me and speaking very loud) and even dismissed us mid-sentence when I asked him to clarify given my phone conversation. We’ve eaten here often, but I would hesitate to come again given how rude this person was.

Food was great. Bar service was horrible. Bartender was easily frazzled and not professional at all.

I almost backed out of my reservation - so glad that I did not. Noting that all the poor reviews were from a few years back (bad form, Google... the world is dynamic - keep the last 24 months of reviews at most) I figured that I would give the place a shot. Great call going with my gut. You should absolutely check this place out. First, if you are going to review a restaurant and a one-star review has 'Food is great, bar service is terrible'... please just stop. Go get drunk somewhere else. Reviewing the entirety of an establishment based on one exchange with a bartender?! Are you bloody serious?! Anyway, on to the review. Yes, this is a casino restaurant. You are a captive audience so many places take this reality for granted. Fortunately, Frankie's does not. The menu is extensive but not rediculous as some Italian places are want to do. The standards are all present and from my personal experience the chef would accommodate reasonable requests. The food was very fresh and had an authentic vibe. Very non-Olive Garden which is always a plus for me . Vegetables were prepared well and cooked quite nicely. A mark of a good establishment is one that pays attention to the details. It is easy to view the vegetables and sides as an 'Oh, by the way...' type of item so when a chef gets the entire meal correctly with quality presentation from top to bottom, that is the mark of a true chef. The only question mark has nothing to do with the food/drink. The outfits and decor is a bit campy. I get the theme but I honestly believe that all of that detracts from the quality of the restaurant. Overall 5-stars. Will come again.

My wife and I love going on Monday for their half price pizza. Their pizzas are made fresh and very delicious! We recommend the New York pizza with your choice of toppings. One pizza that we split and for 2 glasses of wine is only $12.50. The nice atmosphere and music (Frank Sinatra ) is a recipe for a good dinner experience.

First, let me say that the rating system should include quarter stars. I went to my first boxing match at the casino last night. It was great. It was late and me and my wife had not eaten. We decided to check out Frankie's. The food was absolutely awful. The calamari contained little to no seasoning. We ordered this dish called, "Pollo Limone." The chicken was bland and we could not taste any lemon. The waiter, "Daniel", never asked us how the food was nor did he check on our beverages for refills. We had to ask him for refills. Finally, I said to him, "You know, you never asked us how the food was." The waiter said, "Well, you were eating it, so I assumed it was alright." I laughingly responded, "No, the food is actually quite nasty and bland. We are only eating it because it's late and we are really hungry. Do you eat lunch here?" The waiter said he doesn't eat at the restaurant and agrees that the food is bland. Avoid, this place when you are in town. Italians across America should come together and protest the restaurant's insistence in being identified as an Italian restaurant.

A few years ago, Dover Downs had decent restaurants and Frankie's was one of them. We were there in the summer and it was atrocious. Waitress admitted it was her first night, but did not know what a Dewar's and water was! My daughter had to explain same as rum and coke but water and scotch....then she brought a glass of water in a tall glass with half glass of scotch on side and no ice! Dinners were terrible. Chicken piccata tasted like chicken and dumplings with a slice of lemon and capers. Hands down, the worst food I have ever eaten. Service was terrible. The Maitre d was the man who usually hosts at Michele's upstairs; he was very busy handling complaints that night. Table next to us complained of undercooked chicken. That whole track has gone to the dogs. Restaurants are bad, class of horses is down also. It needs to be "reinvented" before it goes down the tubes.
